On 27 April 2010 ReGen Therapeutics Plc (‘ReGen’ or the ‘Company’) announced that it had appointed a leading Indian pharmaceutical company as the exclusive distributor of ReGen’s nutritional supplement Colostrinin™ in India. For commercial reasons the company had requested that it remain anonymous at that time.
ReGen can now confirm that the company is USV Limited (‘USV’) http://www.usvindia.com. USV Limited is a 49 year old leading healthcare company which began as a joint venture with USV & P Inc. USA, a subsidiary of Revlon. It’s product offering today includes Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs), Peptides, Biosimilars, Injectables, Ophthalmics and Solid Orals. USV is planning to formally launch Colostrinin™, branded as Cognate™, in the very near future. It’s commitment to Colostrinin™ is shown by the fact that it has developed and is manufacturing its own formulation specifically tailored to the market in India.
This is the first consumer launch in a major market. India is particularly important because it is one of the significant growth drivers of the world economy and its large population is accustomed to self-medication. Thus, a consumer launch in this market has significant potential for ReGen’s long term profitability.
Colostrinin™ is a nutritional supplement to ‘support healthy brain ageing and cognition in humans’. It is marketed as a nutritional supplement in the US, Canada, Australia and Poland under the brand name CogniSure™ *, in Cyprus under the brand name Cognase™ ** and in the UK under the brand name MemoryAid***. Colostrinin™ is now being launched as Dyna™ in the Republic of Turkey by Eczacibasi.
